Digital Twin to FMECA - An Integrated Approach: Baler Press (India) September 25th, 2025 Read the full Article here (Article only available in English) Abstract The machine manufacturers are continuously looking to provide more efficient and reliable systems to ensure people security, environmental preservation, and reduction of productivity loss. Designers are looking for intuitive and efficient ways to design more reliable systems. Besides, operators and maintenance technicians are looking for faster communication to resolve any issues in the field. Managers therefore seek active collaboration and synergy between experts to maintain productivity throughout the product life cycle. This article aims to demonstrate an approach for developing a digital twin of a real system modelled using an integrated simulation software approach. A hydraulic system of the Baler Press is simulated and analyzed in the software tool Automation Studio™ to show the approach. The presented methodology easily makes it possible to identify the normal operations of the system subject to specific conditions, to measure the nominal performance of its functions, and also to carry out an analysis of failure modes during or after the design of the system. This approach can generate an analysis report too, from which useful information can be extracted for those responsible for designing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a system. In conclusion, all the features included in this integrated approach allow a greater number of machine manufacturers to increase their productivity and communication with improved quality solutions.
