A software with superior design and intuitive animation, simulation effects for teaching and training purpose (Kaohsiung, Taiwan) Background Taiwan is surrounded by sea on four sides. The sea has given birth to abundant diverse cultures and also provided important resources for the survival of humankind. Among the higher educational institutions in Taiwan, College of Maritime in National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology (NKUST) is dedicated in cultivating marine affairs professionals in the southern part of Taiwan. The objectives of the Department of Marine Engineering are mainly to cultivate outstanding commercial marine lines and related turbine engineering personnel. In addition, it is also actively engaged in the training of mechanical design, motor control and power system operation related to sea and land transportation and land-based factories, in order to undertake the tasks related to the sea (land) transport and related areas of system design, control, maintenance, operation and management work. Current situation Over the years, the Department of Marine Engineering in the Kaohsiung Marine University has integrated Automation StudioTM in different courses. With Automation StudioTM‘s integration of the fluid power, mechatronics and other technologies, plus the excellent dynamic simulation and animation effects, Automation StudioTM not only promotes the students’ interests in learning and at the same time improves their final results.
